Keep missing 2nd gear with 700r4; what aftermarket shifter are you using?
Hey all so im having trouble shifting(lol) through the gears on my 700r4. I keep missing 2nd gear. When pulling hard from a dead stop i keep missing my shift from 1st to 2nd and go to drive instead and the TV cable takes over.
I was wondering if there are any tricks, or mods i can do to my stock shifter to have a harder click in between each gears, or having to actually use the button to enable the next gear (like you do from neutral to reverse).
If not, what aftermarket shifter are you guys using with your 700r4? Any that arent huge and look way out of place? thats the only thing that has held me back from changing away from stock is it seems all the aftermarket options are very large and just dont look right in our interior.
Or should i just learn how to caress the shifter into 2nd? lol
Thanks all for input and advice!

B&M console Megashifter is the only remaining aftermarket shifter designed specifically for our stock center consoles. No more missed shifts. I had a chance to drive a K5 Lazer with the truck version, taller base and longer stick, but same ratchet mechanism. I'd run one if I had any need to.

Damn thats it huh?
Anyone know of any mods or anything you can do as i was saying about making a harder click between gears or actually having to use the release button to move through gears?

I waited (and paid, but not terribly) for a Hurst Quarter-Stick to show up on ebay. Got one new in the box for $450. You can't miss second on it! It's generally considered one of the best shifters that was (at one time) made for the 3rd gen F body.
