Rear pinion seal replacement

I rebuilt my rear with a slip position. I had it mechanic do the differential. Turns out pinion seal is leaking and I need to replace it. I am assuming that I need to torque bolt down. If so, how many lbs of torque do I Need? Thanks

Don't know what a slip position is. I'm assuming that you mean a limited slip differential. Also, don't know what bolt you are talking about, but assuming you mean the pinion nut, torque it to 150 foot pounds. That is also assuming that the guy who set it up has the pinion bearing preload set correctly.

Re: Rear pinion seal replacement

I meant slip posi. Lol. Damn spell check. Yes it it leaking from pinion gear. A problem did the job but I don't want to go back to him so I'm gonna do it myself. I'm sure he did the backlash correct. Thanks for your help.
