rearend gears

I was considering swapping my 3:23's for some 3:73's. is this worth the money and the trouble? i know that generally speaking on mustangs you will see close to a second 1/4 gain. i was just wondering if its the same with our cars.

With a TPI motor, probably not, because the engine doesn't make any power at the higher RPM that it would be forced to run at; or more accurately, it makes less at the higher RPM than it does at the RPM it runs at now. That's especially true with an essentially bone-stock one like your sig makes it appear. You have done nothing to move the engine's power band upwards, so a gear change might even slow your car down.

I agree, 3:73s aren't the best idea for a stock TPI intake. I went from 2:73s to a posi 3:73, after the cost of parts and labor, it was such a waste of money, especially since I was heading off to college in a month.
