T5 Swap Wiring Questions
I'm nearly finished with my 700R4 to T5 swap but I have a couple of wiring questions.
I used two wires off of the automatic shifter harness for the clutch safety switch and two of them for the backup light switch. No problems there. I terminated the two remaining wires individually, insulated them and bundled them up under the dash. Is this correct (safe). I don't want any shorts and I don't want an electrical fire.
Also, I'm not sure what to do with the two wires that came from the light bulb socket that lit the auto shifter. I cut the socket off. Should I terminate / insulate those two wire separately or should those two wire be terminated together to complete the circuit? Again I don't want any electrical gremlins with the interior lighting, etc.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Re: T5 Swap Wiring Questions
If you tie them together, it will be a short.
Terminate/Insulate them separately.

Re: T5 Swap Wiring Questions
You could have just left the socket in there, with no bulb in it. Since you already used your dykes, as should not have been done, just tape them off. Don't short them together; your instr lp fuse will blow.
Pretty sure the wires for the clutch safety switch and the T-5 backup light switch are already in the car from the factory; but it shouldn't bother anything to extend the corresponding ones from the auto shifter.
