Gear Ratio

I found a rearend from an '83 "Indy 500" Z-28 that I believe had a 4-speed. The rearend has Alum. drums, any idea as to the gear ratio?

I know I should pull the cover but, I don't want to "show my hand" Anyone have the axle codes?

According to the tech data page, the 83 Z-28 came with the 5 speed manual or the 4 speed auto (700R4?), not the 4-speed manual. It could be either 3:23 or 3:73, depending on the motor.

Actually on the tech page it shows both a Std. and an Optional (G92) manual trans both using 3.73 gears.

I was looking for a "real-world" answer. I figured that since this site is 3rd gen only, someone here must have some "hands-on" experiance with them

Wasn't the Indy 500 car in 1982??? That would have the 4sp.
3.23 if it was fuel injected
2.73 if it was a carb car.
The Indy 500 car was a 'decal' car. No addional power or any other good options. The early posi's weren't very good either.
