I have a 88 iroc lb9 305 with a borg warner t5 transmission. Currently I'm running k&n high flow air filters and I sawed out the bottom of the plastic that holds the air filters. In the summer sometime, I'm hoping to get subframe connectors along with headers, a high flow intake manifold kit, and I'm thinking a 50 shot of nitrous. For obvious reasons I'm worried about my transmission and if it needs to be swapped then I wanna do it before I do all the engine stuff. I would guess that with those upgrades my 305 should be within 50 or so hp from a 4th gen ls1. So is it time for a trans swap?
