Th400 going into an '87. Starting to think I might have the wrong crossmember. It seems as if the hole for the trans mount stud is too far back, essentially like the cross member doesn't go back far enough. I can get the crossmember itself bolted in to all 4 holes just fine but then can't get the mount. If I start with the mount in I can bolt the cross member up to one side or the other but not both.

If I really wrestle with it I can kind of get every hole in but far from straight so it just binds up at this point here in the photo.

Here is the cross member itself outside of the car. It is BMR branded.

I do not have much experience with the Long Variants of Tail Housings for the THM400 (It looks like you are using one)...

Did you order a Transmission Cross-Member for a long Tail Housing THM400?

What Engine are you using... and are you using Engine Mounts (or Engine Cross-Member) that move the Engine placement to a position other than Stock?

haha, my garage floor is dirt, repurposed carpet from work (apartment upgrades) to lay on. Swap it when its too far gone.

Mark IV 454, stock mounting location. The long tail must be whats awry... I picked up this crossmember second hand last year so I was not the one to order it. I think I had it before I had the trans in hand so I didn't think anything of it.
