T-5 swap for T-5 WC ?
Have the T-5 in 86 Z but 120,000 + miles on it the input shaft is real wobbly, Worn out. So was looking at a T-5 WC is this a direct replacement for the T-5 as far as splines, bolting up ect.

The "input shaft" (clutch gear) is SUPPOSED to be "wobbly" when not installed. The pilot bearing / bushing in the crank, holds it aligned.
Yes the W... Wo... Worl [ppppppuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkke] ... yeah, that... 2nd design T-5 transmission, if it's for 87-92 V8 GM F body, bolts RIGHT DIRECTLY UP in place of the 1st design. Identical in every way as far as fitment. Assuming of course it's a V8 3rd gen F body one. That trans was available for 6-cyl, Mustang, S truck, 4th gen F body, and I can't even tell you how many OTHER vehicles, with all manner of variations, that WON'T fit your car. Everything from bolt patterns, to spline counts both at the clutch and drive shaft, shifter location, presence/absence of torque arm mount, and more besides, has variations. For that matter, there are even variations within 87-92 V8 GM F body applications; not least of which is, the grocery-cart cars (LG4 & TBI) got different (wider) gear ratios, while the performance ones (LB9) got better ratios. 5th in particular is different: .73 in the good ones, .63 in the crappy ones. Doesn't sound like alot, but it makes it feel like it's missing a 4½th gear.

Re: T-5 swap for T-5 WC ?
FWIW the input shaft on my T-5 was not wobbly when I installed it. I could maybe understand a little play, but really wobbly sounds like a good call for replacement.

Just can't bring yourself to say it, huh?
I had enough of that TQM / Six-Sigma / PIT Team / ISO-9000 BULLPLOP back in the 80s. Hard to believe abuncha "senior management" was STOOOOOOOPID enough to let their summer sophomore engineering intern name the product with the latest "trendy" mouth diarrhea; but I guess that's what you get when you're lazy and not BUZZWORD proof.
