I have a chance to buy a 2800 stall 30spline input for the 700r tranny. Will this converter fit in my 1986 trans am ??

If it's actually an '86 it should work, I had an '85 with 30 spline input. I believe the spline count changed in mid '84.

 

alright thanks. I did a search through the archives and i found that that is the general consensus. they also said that in 88 they upgraded the internals of the tranny. But they said the mid 84 they changed over to the 30 spline. and yea it is an original 86. I am about to get someone to do a rebuild on it to handle my 355s/c. also in the archives someone got shafted by a member on this board 442guy when he sold an "86" that had a 27 spline input
