T56 Fork info HELP

It's a long shot but,, does anyone know the thickness of an LT1 style T56 clutch fork? My fork has some wear on the surface that engages the Throw-out bearing. I got .047" on one side and .045" on the other. Replacement clutch forks are stupid priced $200. I just rather build up some surface with a little 7018

Re: T56 Fork info HELP

Don't know offhand, and I'm too lazy to take mine apart and measure; butt ideally, should fit fairly tight into the TOB, maybe .010 - .015" clearance or something reasonable like that. I seem to recall that that's how mine was when it was new.

Re: T56 Fork info HELP

First, thanks for the quick response, I wasn't ready for that Second, I better put my glasses on: my Fork measures .47" and .45" on the ears. But my (Spec Clutch) throw-out bearing has about a .80" gap for it to engage. I know my fork is worn but I don't think it's worn over a 1/4 on an inch. (Unless Spec gave my some weird T/O bearing).

Re: T56 Fork info HELP

The "surface" of the fork that engages the TOB starts out life roughly flat and uniform. You should have 2 flat notches worn into your fork. The height of the notch, compared to the metal next to it, is what's missing.

In any case, I don't think it's possible for it to be "too tight", as long as the fork can go into the TOB.
