SLP posi arrived. Have ?s

My new posi arrived but happiness was short lived. The box was thoroughly trashed, I mean holes in the box. I wondered why the UPS guy was running back his truck ! The posi seems okay but I'm not sure if any pieces fell out of the box. The receipt say posi and pins/bolts? What does this mean? It has one pin that holds a big piece in the middle ( not sure what it is ). This pin was loose and it and the piece fell out of the posi, is this bad? Plus the packing foam was ground into dust the coated the entire part, this stuff won't trash the bearings will it?

there should be a small bolt that holds that crosspin in also. There should be a small hole in the cross pin thats where the bolt will go through once its screwed in the differential.

I can give you a vague answer. The pin in the center should hold everything together and it's held in place with a small bolt. If it fell out other parts may have come out as well. The foam dust won't hurt anything, it could all be cleaned with clean solvent and compressed air since there are no clutches to damage, use brake cleaner, mineral spirits, laquer thinner, etc. Check Zexel Torsens site for a possible blown up picture of the unit parts.

Mine arrived in the exact same manner, both of them, one in my Z and one in my S10.Both have been in for over a year with no problems, just clean it real good like recommended above. The bolt and large box like metal piece you refer to is what holds the axles apart when all is together, after you install the c clips and then install the metal bar in between. All the pieces you need are there.
