Will a 700 R4 out of a 2.8 bolt up to my 350?? if it will is it gonna last long??
I can get one for free I just have to take the motor and trans out of one and put the motor in another and keep the trans:lala: the guy I'm getting it off of says a 2.8 and 350 trans is the same is this true or

I'll try and be a bit more informative than this other fellow.

It will not bolt up because the bolt pattern is different. Significantly. Plus the insides on the 2.8's are made of weaker stuff. That 350 would tear it up. Hope this helps. I will have a 700 r-4 for a V-8 for sale in a few weeks once my conversion is done.

 

yep, 2.8s are 60°. 4.3v6s and all sbc's are 90°, you could use a trans from a 4.3 but it's not as strong as a v8 one.
