Tranny cooler and temp gauge
I just recently had my 700R4 rebuilt with all the good stuff and I have a 2000 stall TCI converter. I want to install a tranny cooler and temp guage. For the cooler I'm looking at the B&M supercooler that is 11"x7.5"x.75". Is this a good choice and will it fit. They make one slightly smaller but I would feel better with the bigger one. For the temp guage I was looking at the Auto Meter 2 1/16" electrical guage. It says it comes with the sender and 3/8" and 1/2" NPT fittings. Where does the sender and fittings go? I never hooked up an aftermarket guage. Pictures would be a big help. Thanks for the help.
Even the smallest cooler would be better than the factory one, if you ever see how small the one in the radiator is you will understand. Really the biggest one that will fit is not necessary, go with something that you know will fit, it will be plenty. Your gauge and sender should come with instructions. Good luck!!

You'll want to install the sender on the return(upper) oil line.
You might get the Autometer transmission manifold. It has all the hardware to install into your stock oil lines, or hit the hardware store, and make your own.

I have a 88 iroc-z and I just added a transmission gauge. My sender is connected on the side of the trans pan next to the throttle linkage. It works fine, the gauge usally reads between 175 and 210 degrees.
I put the sender for my temp guage in the rear of the tranny pan. I took the pan off and checked for an area that had room for the sender to protrude into the pan without hitting anything. I drilled the hole in the pan and put in a B&M tranny drain plug kit. Instead of putting in the plug you just thread in the temp sender and wire it to the guage. Just make sure to use thread sealer on it. Works well for me. I asked many different tranny people where the best place to put the temp sender is and they all had different ideas about where to put it. So, I bet there will be some sort of arguement here about it too.
