If it's a LG4 car (non-HO) then it probably came with a 3.23.
Have you changed the fluid lately? Then you need to. While you have the cover off, count the teeth.
Codes are useless. They only tell you what the factory put in one, not what's in there now. There's no substitute for looking at it. And the code isn't in the VIN anyway, it might be on the rear end somewhere, subject to the above warning.
