I wouldn't do it and I have : changed a powersteering pump , changed a starter , heater blower , brake pads . This involves dropping the fueltank and taking the rear axle off . Don't go there ! lol

You do not need to remove the rear axle. It would be very benificial, but you do not need to do it. I had to replace tank so I know all about this.

Get Haynes manual (Make sure tank is VERY close to empty)
The get your car on jack stands so that the rear axle hangs down.
Remove muffler, and unbolt I-pipe from cat.
Remove heat shields form above I-pipe and and bottom of tank.
Un hook the rubber hoses on the gas lines.
Unbolt track bar, and track bar support brace.
Unhook the fuel pump and gas guage plug in. (remove fuel cap)
Remove strap bolts.
tank should start to fall.
Crurse like mad, and wiggle it till you can get it so the Filler pipe and tank slide out. This is the most difficult part. This will involve alot of patients and moving of things.
Pump is on top of tank. You need a hammer and punch to take this out.
