Pretty good size oil leak....

My friend has an 87 Camaro with a 2.8 in it. From what I could see oil is leaking down the trans (its a manual) and onto the Y-pipe and burning off. My thoughts are that the o-ring around the distributor is leaking. Are there any common spots where oil leaks from on 2.8's/3.1's??? All in all I LIKE the car. Its not nicest car to have but its a fun car....I like shifting through the gears. He lets me drive it because my 91 Formula is up on stands and wont becoming off for at least another month Later.
