I have an '86 2.8, and it is basically a good car, but like any, it won't look after you unless you look after it. If the one you are looking at has more than 150,000kms and the owner does not have proof of it being done recently, start thinking "transmission rebuild". Also make sure to check the ECM for trouble codes-- a Haynes manual will tell you how to do this, or email me and I will give you the details. The car is rated (I believe) as getting 135hp and 160ft/lbs torque. Probably it won't though. As for mileage, I think it's supposed to get 30-35mpg, but I don't know because mine can't get that anymore (failing tranny).
