rear end differential

hey guys its not my axle bearings or seals or my Ujoints which took 5 hours to replace but its actually the rear itself
i hear a roaring noise faster as i accelerate faster its prolly the internal bearings in the rear differential itself right?
im screwed now , royally , so what do U think i should do?
i only found 2 rears one from 84 firebird but it was ran the hell out of and has metal shavings similar to the kind i had inside the differential.
then theres one from 88 camaro v6 but thier both around 250 bucks please help me i wanna keep my third gen on the road cuz its otherwise perfect and pulls like a freight train!

thanks

If you feel like a drive(to Mi.), I've got one with 3.42 gears for $100. It ran fine, and is ready to yank out right now.

Woah; $250? I was told $250 for a rear. Then I went to another junkyard, and got my current '88 v6 3.42 rear for $100. (The '84 3.73/posi/disc axle blew it's posi, and is still sitting in the backyard. I keep forgetting about it. ) Try another place. Hell you might be able to buy a whole parts car for $250!

What cars were the '84's? Maybe one had the 3.73/posi/disc or the 3.73/open/drum axle!
