limiter questions

i wanna shut of the governer...has anyone did this? does it work? (im goin witht he tech article on the tech page)

Seems like it would work; when I grabbed that full-gauge instrument panel, I looked in my GM service manual for all the pieces related to the electric speedometer... one of which was the VSS buffer. The VSS buffer took the input from the tailshaft-mounted VSS, through a two-wire connector- purple & yellow. Then there were output wires from the VSS.

I could swear that there were separate wires to the ECM and speedometer, from the VSS box. If I remember right, this would mean that the guy's tech article is totally accurate, and the speedometer would still work.

Don't quite know why he just said "for TBI". Could be that he never tested it on a MPFI or TPI motor. I'll get the VSS pinouts tonight.

hey tom...not sure if you'll get back to reading this...about the electric speedometer and the governor working together...i have a cable driven speedometer...so how exactly would the computer know how fast i was going...do i a vehicle speed sensor that works in with everything and tells me to shut down...i've never quite understood these governors...
