Is it worth it?
Is it worth it?
My brotyher's friends is seling his 84 Camaro auto 2.8L 6-cyl. It's got 106,000 supposedly, because there's no 100.000 mile space on the gauge, so it could be 206,000. The engine idles nicely, but when you hit the pedal, it hesitates sometimes. This could be a cheap problem or an expensive problem. The body is in "decent"shape, doors are a little rusted, and there's other little patches of rust, but it all looks like surface rust. The only new parts on the car are the radiator and the rear tires. It has an aftermarket sunroof that someone put in, but put in wrong, so it leaked for a while before he got it sealed. Interiors kinda ripped up also. The a/c compressor is also shot and one of the front tires rubs against something when you make a sharp turn. He wants $800 for it, but there's no way in hell I'd give him that. I think I'm gonna offer him $500 cash, take it or leave it. Think it's worth it, or should I offer him less. Or should I not even bother. I don't mind putting some money into it or fixing, replacing, sanding, scraping, painting, etc. I have a Dodge Shadow right now and I really think it's time to step out of the 4-cyl world. And anything that you think I should do to this car if I do buy it (besides the obvious tune up/clean up stuff)?
