Problem: car is old.
flush out all engine/tranny/dif oil & refill w/synthetic. Do TomP's full tune up. Repack front wheel bearings w/synthetic. Shift kit. custom cai/ram air. If your going to run the msd, loose the bosch plugs (sorry, I know they $5.99ea & I have 'em in the Blazer, but I've read bad things about ig boxes & platnum plugs) Put skinnies in front, lower car,use smaller diameter rear wheels to let engine rev quicker.

when i run into the money to do the synthetic swap i will , right when i bough the car i had all the oils flushed and new added, the shift kit is sitting in my room, i lost .3 seconds on my 1/8 time with the bosch +4's (11.2 to a 11.5) so i want to lose them but im waiting till i know what kind i should get and some 8.8 Accel wires all at once, wanting to get some 3.73 as well

krazy, what kind of shift kit is it? IF it's a B&M, send it back, buy the TransGo one. I have the B&M kit in, and none of the trans experts like the kit, they say it does more harm than good. Too bad I put the B&M kit in way before I knew this. I can't take it out because B&M has you drill a hole in the separator plate to be larger! This trans has got problems; eventually I'll rebuild a junkyard 700r4- and that'll get the TransGo kit.
Watch out for converting to synthetics on a high-mileage motor, synthetic molecules are smaller, and can ooze out past old rubbers seals and give you tons of oil leaks.
