V6 performance parts
Where is a good place to get V6 performance parts? I'm looking for heads, headers, exhaust, cams, ingition, all of the goodies, but for a 3.1L. I wanna make this baby roar as loud as possible. I was thinking of going to a 5.0L 305 or a 350, but I can't find em used for a Camaro. Help!

Summit Racing has parts for the 60* v6. The parts are not listed in their catalog but if you call them they can send you in the right direction. There are no aftermarket heads for our v-6s. The best bet would be to get a set of heads from a 93-95 3.4L camaro and put them on. Headers are no longer mass produced but there is a guy on the board (Camaro Hunter C) who makes them. An exhaust shop will have to make a custom Y-pipe. The two most popular Cam manufacturers are Crane and Crower. Check some of the other threads in this forum for more ideas.

Summit and jegs will be your best bet. Like 91rs said, headers are no longer mass produced for direct fit into these cars, and the heads, If i rem the post correctly, the only diff was bigger springs, the openings and such were the same. Cam, rockers, 3.4 stroker kit/swap, muffler, home made cai, ignition, no overside TB
Just to name a few.

Just to be an off-the-wall dumbass, what is the likliness that a 3.8L V6 from a 4th Gen Camaro will fit into my car? I like those engines and their power and the aftermarket for those V6's is incredible. What do oyu think?

Unlikely... you'd also have to change the whole computer. The 3.8 is too wide to fit between our strut towers. For the '89 turbo trans am, which used a 3.8, GM used smaller heads- from I believe, a front wheel drive 3.3 car - to get the 3.8 to fit. And like I said, you'd have to change the whole computer and wiring harness out. And if you have an automatic transmission, you'd have to change it, because the 2.8/3.1 trans won't fit up to a 90 degree 3.8 V6. If you have a manual trans, you might be able to redrill the bellhousing, but even then, I don't know what you'd do for a clutch setup.
It'd be a cool project, but just like the "I want to twin turbo my 2.8" idea, everyone just talks about it, and never does it.

get heads off a FWD 3.8
for the tranny if you have an auto you will need to get a V8 tranny and a chevy to BOP bolt pattern adapter plate
for a manual just simply use a 95-02 3.8/ T5 bellhousing
now that i think about it, i believe the stock heads will fit, i think you need the FWD if you want to retain your A/C........
