Before I rip apart the suspension on my V6 Firebird, I figured I'd ask here first... Anyone put FE2 springs under a typical V6 fbody?

I installed front V8 springs on the front of my V6 bird many years ago. It sat up high in the front and the ride was very tough. Handling was hardly any better.

I put Iroc V8 1" lowered "Sport" springs into mine years ago. They would have been fairly stiff for a heavier V8 and very stiff for my little V6. I ended up cutting just a little more than a half coil off of them to lower it more ( compensating for the lighter weight). I put them on a spring tester to check final rate after cutting them and if I remember correct it was about 810lbs. I'm not certain about that figure though, it was so many years ago and I have several different cars all modified. Its hard to remember what I did to which car. I really should have kept records on this stuff like I have with my race car.

We put Eibach springs on Redraif's car, and had to cut 1/2 coil to get it to sit right. The nose was at least three inches higher than with her old springs til we did this. Handling was greatly improved.

A little off the topic, but I replaced one of my front springs with an S-10 spring and it worked fine. The S-10 was alot heavier then the V-6 firebird spring, it's probably closer to the strength of a V-8 spring.

Drew, granted I have the V8 WS6 springs which are different than yours I'd still say don't do it, my car sits really high up in the front, that's why I have moroso drags springs for a TTA going on...

I don't think you'll like the ride height man...
