Digital type? Eh? My EGR is a vacuum diaphragm type.

I think he's talking about the egr hook up. The egr i functional, CHD hooked us up good.

You've got the same vacuum op'd EGR as Project85 does, and if he's got no problems, you won't either. As long as the bolt pattern for the digital EGR is the same as the vacuum EGR, it'll work- and they look to be, from KJRock's picture. (Great picture! You look like you're ready to lift the car up with one arm and bolt 'em in with another!
)
As to smog pump, '85's right, you'd have to get someone to weld in bungs to take the threaded tube nuts of the AIR pump tubes. But, many 2.8's didn't come with a smog pump from the factory, and still pass emissions- like my Firebird. So if your state isn't super strict about things, and wouldn't notice a missing smog pump, you'd be okay to pass emissions. You might have a 3-way cat instead of a 2-way, so you might want to replace the cat. (My high-flow cat has a metal tube sticking out of the side that was capped closed by the company, they said if you need to hook it up to an AIR pump, to remove the cap, otherwise, leave the tube closed.) You might want to make the AIR pump elimination look as factory as possible, though...
In fact, just checked... your car's an '86, right? In '86, 2.8's with manual transmissions got the air pump, 2.8's with automatics didn't. So there's the "big difference"... you'd probably pass smog easily- unless the tech guy knew about the difference.
