700r4 trany probs?

im having some probs with my trany in the bird. when im doing normal driving it shifts just fine but when i wanna have fun it gets weird. when i manually shift the car 1-2-d-od it wont shift from gear to gear at full throtle. the shifter will switch gears but the trany wont shift. i have to let off to 3/4 throtle for it to shift. what is up with that? what can be done to fix it? i have a shift kit for it but its not installed yet.

Shift kit will fix that. I know the valve body is set so that the tranny will not shift 3-4 under WOT.

thank you very much. i already have the b&m street and strip shift kit. im going to install it soon. im also gonna get a 2500-3000 stall converter. also where can i get a torque converter lock up switch?

If you mean a switch to manually lock the TCC, it's wicked easy. I'm an idiot and I wired one. Find your diagnostic port (the ALDL).. Run wires from a simple toggle switch over to the upper left and upper right two..make sure the wires don't touch at all except where they meet the ALDL port and the switch ports. Then, voila.. With the switch off, it's an automatic TCC lock..with it on, it force locks it in any gear except first. And also, my tranny does the exact same thing! But it tops out pretty nasty before shifting gears at WOT..and I try to force shift it but if I'm too harsh on it it kicks back. First to second is bearable..but second to third is horrific. I have no money for a tranny rebuild though.....

As for the 3/4 throttle kickdown...that should only happen when flooring it in OD. Then the car will automatically downshift to D. My 'bird will shift into all gears at WOT (except for OD). But like Nixon1 said...the very top of the gears are pretty worthless. You should be able to shift into 2 and 3 at WOT....and if the shift kit will fix it....not sure....not a tranny man per se.
