So I've got a headlight out; figured I'd fix it today. Got a bulb, took out the old, put in the new, sunofabtch, it doesn't work. Must've gotten a bad bulb!! So before I go back to complain, I grab the $130 Fluke multimeter. First I checked the new bulb; checked out okay with the meter. Damn, must be in the car wiring. So I go out to the car with the meter, pop the headlights up, and pull the connector out to check it. Yeah well the wire for the low beam circuit (tan wire) was missing from the 3-pin connector, it snapped off at the connector. Good thing I grabbed the expensive multimeter to check that out! Didn't even turn the meter on. Guess that's why I didn't have a low beam on that side, eh?
And the connectors are only 18 years old, too. (They're from the '84 parts car I had, since my original headlight connectors got creamed in my accident.)
And Pep Boys pissed me off; their wall of pre-wired harness connectors, like for ignition coil, tps sensor, iac motor, coolant and temp and brake and a/c and etc sensors and light bulb harnesses and etc, was GONE! In it's place is some lame collection of lighted rocker swiches and fog light wiring harnesses. They also wiped out a whole two aisles to put in some stupid car stereo and neon display rack. Frickin' import-driving high schoolers are ruining my parts stores- we're going from "real parts" to "***** *******ricer add-on parts". Had to drive a few miles out of my way to another Pep Boys that didn't switch over to ******* ricer -mode. Only good thing; I expected the connector to be $8 or $12, it was only $3- but man, those wires look like they're a small gauge. Oh well. So I gotta wire it up sometime tomorrow or Tuesday.
Got pulled over Thursday night for it.. cop told me I had a headlight out, and I should get it fixed. If I get pulled over again and a cop tells me my headlight's out, I'll just say "oh, no, officer, it's not out, it's missing." Think he'll appreciate the correction?
edit: Huh?!? We censor *******-r now?? What the hell's wrong with *******-r ??
edit2: Oh you gotta be kidding me. ricer shouldn't be censored. Lets try some windows trickery. That's better. Damn ricers, ruining my hobby once again...
