need some ignition part numbers

I did a search for these and could not find it pretty quick.

I need the part number (summit or jegs) for the 2.8 Accel spark plug wires, I need at least a 8mm wire. Last I head there was a set for 20 bucks.

Also what is the number for the ignition module? Is it worth the money? Is it as easy to instal as it looks? Is it worth the money in the performance department?

The accel catalog can be found at their parent company's website, http://www.mrgasket.com , and here's some #s for ya. Put "ACC-" in front of each one if you order from Summit Racing. I don't know Jeg's manufacturer codes, so I can't help you with those.

8.0 mm Super Stock: #4079, $24/summit
Super Stock Spiral: #5079K, $32/summit, backordered
8.8 mm wires: #8879, $45/summit

What are Super Stock Spiral wires?? I thought all of Accel's wires were spiral core? Anyway, here's one time I'll actually tell you to go to Northern Auto Parts, either http://www.naparts.com or http://www.northernautoparts.com , because they sell #4079 for $21. (On their "view online catalog PDF" link, it's on page 40.)

If you poke carefully thru Accel's catalog, you'll see they recommend the xx78 series wires for 85-86 Firebirds with the 2.8 (engine code S). But, there's no difference at all between the 85-86 2.8 motor and the 87-89 2.8 motor, or even the 90-92 3.1 motor! Since xx79 is spec'd for 87-92 2.8/3.1's, use either 4079 or 5079K or 8879 on your '86.

Thanks for the info Tom, I just gave up after searching for hours on Summits site LOL. But the $24 wires are what I am looking for. With the higher under the hood temps, accel super coil, and a few other things my stock AC Delco wires just went down the toilet along with the plugs.

Do you have the ignition module? Is it worth the money for a performance stand point?
