Attn: 3.4 Swappers - Report for Review!
Many know, I've coached (written the "book"-tho not the "author" as I really tip my hat to Mike Knell of JTR for that honor) the 3.4 swap projects on our rides, by personal reply emails & reply comments here on the V-6 side.
Since I did my first 3.4 swap (to my 1985 Firebird) back in Jan of 2000, my trials & errors have brought many "Beware of this Detail" suggestions for other 3.4 swappers.
My first obvious trial and error involves loosing the auto tranny, due to a poor previous rebuild.
Solved by a decent rebuilt tranny job.
One 3.4 swapper, ate his clutch (only one stick 3.4 conversion reported, so far, CaliCamaro will make 2!-SOON!!!). Upon replacing his clutch, no problems, since.
For helping other 3.4 swappers now & in the future, how about responding and offering your personal 3.4 swap trials & errors, to avoid those "Speed Bumps".
Hopefully, our real world experience will make a shorter return to the road for enjoying more "Miles of Smiles".
The point is also to help keep your ride "Smog Legal", too.
Hope this provides informative reading, Q's & A's, for many!

make sure that the tranny lines running under the engine are disconected from the clip attached to the oil pan before attempting engine removal
AND
Make sure all bolts & nuts are separated between the 2.8 & the 3.4 :nono:

Since mines not a "normal" swap for many, but, I will do my best when questions are asked.
So far, I haven't had to many issues. Just glad my pops informed me of the poilot shaft bushing since it came from auto car, to manual truck.
Other then that, not to many issues.
I know I will get many
when mine starts, and then I'm hoping for :hail: :hail: :hail: at the car shows, maybe a few

Close project!!!!
Reusing headers that were on the truck. I am having (better off) to put the 3.1l fuel rail in it though.
