Some Help Please

Hi i was wondering if any of you guys with the dynomax catback exhaust sytem can post a soundclip or two. What are the specs on the dynomax is it 3 inch to the back then dual 2.25 for 2.5 inch tailpipes? Also does anybody know if paw sells forged piston kits for the 3.4 i see in mags they have them for the 2.8. Oh one more thing i read in carcraft that all 85 and later t-5's were world class units but i thought i heard 88 here does anybody know if the t-5 in my 85 is a wc?

85 used a Non-World Class T5. Either 87 or 88 was the first year. I got my WC T5 from an 88 RS.

I think the Rustangs got the WC T5 in 85.

The Dynomax catback is a 2.5 in catback, with single inlet and dual outlets.. As far as I can tell, both outlets are between 2 and 2.5 in.....I bought 2.5 in to 3 1/4 in. tips to have welded on but the shop put a piece in the middle..whether it was to adapt the smaller exits to the 2.5 in needed to weld, or if it was just to get the tips out of the way of the bumper (because it WAS bent) is anybody's guess. FYI- 3 in. is too much for a catback. You will lose power.

2.5" is the best for out little engines anyways. Nixon is right, go with 3" and you'll lose low end, and peak power aswell. There's just not enough exhaust gasses coming out for the turbulance to keep up

What happens with a 3 in. system is there's more diameter so the exhaust gases hit the pipe and naturally, they spread out...being farther displaced, they cool down and lose velocity, causing them to be obstructions...creates unnecessary turbulence, etc. Generally, just not good.

2.5's kinda large for 305 v8's, too. Our catback is actually meant for a v8. Luckily the v6 f-body used the same exhaust routing as the v8's (non high-output v8's) so it bolts up to our car.
