need your suggestions
I knew my 2.8 V6 was slow, but a frind drove it the other day and he said its not supposed to be that slow, his car is a 90 3.0 V6 minivan, and he beat me racing by a car length.I've been driving the new IROC,so now it really seems slow.I've done a tune-up recently cap, rotor,ac delco plugs, and some new plug wires, and still feels the same. You guys got any ideas on what is robbing the power or what i should look for? Thanks

if you have the small canister style air intake with the elbow that sits ontop of the rad, get rid of it. build a new intake, with a conical filter. then maybe a new catback exhaust system. anything else and you start to get into the big bucks

Put the dynomax cab back on it.
Install the dual TPI air intake setup on it.
Do a compression test, make sure the rings are good.
When you did tune up, did you do OEM replacement, or aftermarket performance?
Upgrade ignition.
All them things will not cost ALOT, and should be a nice start to better performance.

Agreed....a stock 2.8 is NOT a fast car. But they can be made to be fairly quick...like Dale said, the Dynomax catback is great. DO a Catco high flow converter too. If you're not concerned about emissions, run a pipe through the current cat. Exhaust and intake alone will gain you more than you'd believe. I've got exhaust and intake and only new cap/rotor, plugs, wires, and a coil on the way...and just that dropped the car from a 10.5 0-60 down to less than 8.5...according to the G-Tech, 8.28, but I don't know how accurate it is. Point being..a few simple mods can go a long way. Just know when to quit and give the Iroc the money,.

I put the K&N's in my IROC,they're both dual snorkel, the tune-up was just stock replacement parts,I've been putting all my money in the IROC,I do think my cat may be bad or clogged, barely got through smog last year,I think I'll try the ignition upgrade, and change that cat.Tanks for the help.
