Can someone tell me the p/n for a coil?

A coil for an '89 2.8...is it 1115315?

Thinking about changing my coil at 112k miles. Wires, cap and plugs are all fresh, still got a bit of a rough idle and figure a new coil might be in order too. For 28 bucks of gmpartsdirect, worth a shot.

Well GM's are good...

However, if I were you, I'd take the opportunity to upgrade to an MSD or Accel

in summit, the part # for the msd blaster 2 coil, which is what i have, is msd-8203 for stock ignition, and msd-8202 for msd ignition, i highly reccomend putting an msd 6a ignition in with the new coil, it works wonders, the part # for that is msd-6200. you can check out summit at www.summitracing.com they're good i buy everything from them

Thanks for the advice, but I'm really not looking to dump extra money into the car upgrading the ignition system, just wanted to replace what I figure to be a tired stock unit. The car is actually my winter car, already got one car with enough go fast parts on it to keep me happy

Actually I see that p/n 8202 looks like its an OEM replacement for the stock ignition coil. Hell for the same price i'll give it a shot.

For cheaper, go with the Blaster 2; yes, it will work with our dual-connector coils. You just have to cut a few wires; nothing on a brain-surgery level. And if it's the winter beater car, you could even use electrical tape instead of heat-shrink!
