My son of a gun stock Prestige security system on my 88 RS I think has completely screwed up my electric system on my Camaro, it kept going on and off and would randomly sound, now i took the horn out to stop the sound, but I'm still getting drag on the battery from the scurity system, I know this because the little red light on the radio trim plate keeps blinking when the battery is connected, i've just disconnected the battery for now, but does anyone know what the heck i'd have to do to get the full system completely out of the car?

I'm not too literate on the prestige system, but I would locate the security "brain" and disconnect it if there is one.... I don't think it interferes with the VATS if you have it... don't quote me on that though. I would look underneath the driver dash for a small black box, and if not there try the psgr side under dash.. just don't disconnect the ECM by mistake!

Like QTA said, most installers just shove the box above the steering column, or behind the fuse box. I've even had some alarms fall on me when I was under the dash! "Hey what's this box?" (pokes box) (box falls) Yet another reason why I installed my Viper myself. Keep in mind that a car vibration sensor is usually wire-tied to the steering column area, so don't mistake a vibration sensor with 3 or 4 wires coming out of it for the alarm brain.
You could probably ask this question in the Electronics forum, too, since it doesn't matter V6/V8...
