I've always used dielectric grease on mine.

I used the white stuff... zinc oxide I think?... for the ignition module. Bought a tube of it from Radio Shack 'cause I couldn't find my old tube from my "electronics" hobby days Rebuilt it in '98, the module's been happy ever since. My Borg Warner module came with a pack of the white stuff, but I wanted more. What module did you buy? Did it come with the clear silicone?

Cool, let us know how the new module works out! Did you open the packet yet? Was it the white stuff or the clear stuff?
