notice it says 82-86. IIRC the 4L60 didnt come out until like 1990 or something like that when they made it electric.

Talk to the tech at summit racing. There should not be a difference betweent the V6 and V8 trans internals, but I'm not 100% sure. If there is a different kit, they will have it, and they will tell you about it.

Not likely regarding the 82-86 kit. 1987 was the first year that the 700r4 received an auxiliary valve body. The 82-86 kit probably won't have any parts relating to the aux valve body.

There's only minor internal differences between a v6 and a v8 700r4. In fact, Summit will tell you there's no kit for a v6. Trans shops will also tell you there's no kit for a v6. No 700r4 kit is labeled "I-4", "V6", or "v8".

You should at least buy the GM shop manual if you're going to rebuild the trans.

Also; how much power are you giving your motor? A stock rebuild kit is about $100; that's what I'll be putting in.
