Question on swapping trasmissions...
I am wondering how difficult would it be to swap an automatic transmission from my 1989 2.8 Firebird to a 5 speed transmission found in the vehicle of the same year?
What changes would I have to make?
Thanks!
Dan

You might have more luck in the tranny section on the boards... But...changes include removing the shifter assembly and making sure the new shifter will fit in there...cutting out part of the floor to fit the clutch pedal... That's just the physical stuff.. Mechanically, I don't know, never done it.

LOL, yep I posted in the wrong section by mistake. Thanks for the info though, now I just have to look into how much this deal might cost me!
I wouldn't have bought my V6 Camaro if it wasn't a 5 speed but it's a lot of work to swap from auto to manual. Here's how to do it http://www.thirdgenresource.com/auto...ual_conversion
