Electrical short

1989 firebird v6 2.8 We just put in a new sterring colum last weeek and everything went fine so im not usre that has anything to do with this question but i figured i might want to add it. My horn dome light, courtesty lights, trunk release, power locks wont work anymore everytime i press on the trunk release button the brake light on the dash flashes and theres one fuse in the fuse box that is for the lights and im guessing mabie everything else not sure that keeps on popping when i put in a new fuse. Any suggestions on if this is all being cause by one fuse or what the hecks going on any help is appreciated it just started doing all this crazy crap. And i hate the VATS security system
Thanks

Kind of hard to guess where to start, but if the problem never happened before the column job, I would look there for problems. Maybe you got a wire caught somewhere and pinched it, or the moving around in the area rubbed the insulation off of a wire somewhere. I've found wires above my fuse block where the insulation was rubbed through and the wires were shorting to the body.

Pull the trunk release switch and check for exposed/degraded wiring.
