MAP sensor

I've got a code 34 on my 1987 V-6 Sport Coupe, should be the MAP sensor. Where is it located? I've changed them on V-8 cars before but can't seem to locate it on the V-6.
Thanks

Your '87 has a MAF, no MAP. Look for the MAF inline with the air intake.

Rob,

Thanks for the reply, do you know if code 34 relates to the MAF instead? Thanks

Yes it does---
Code 34. Low voltage (high vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)

An MAF that's acting up fairly bad....the car will usually run better if you unplug it. That's a quickie test. TomP wrote up this whole MAF test chart and stuff.....it's on the site somewhere...it's very in-depth if I remember right. You can try doing a search.

With the car idling, lightly tap on the MAF with a screwdriver or such- if the cars idle jumps all over that place when tapped on, then its definately bad.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreicate it. I got my test light and voltage meter and went through the Chilton steps and it tests for bad MAF. I'm getting ready to bolt it now.
