Is this guy for real?!

Ok, I saw this post on another message board, and I'm not sure what to make of it. What do you think?

How to Give the V6 a little more kick!!

Here is a way to give you V6 a little more power. Right behide the distibuter cap there is a 9/16 bolt. Turn this until its a little loose this will increase your timeing to match you front timeing chain that has been wore down after so many years. This trick also works on V8's. Well there it is Enjoy!!

Til its kindda loose? not to much info there. You would think if a bolt was loose on an engine it would work itself out completely and really screw you over

that's what I'm thinking... I think he's referring to the hold down bolt for the distributor, but if that's loose and the distributor can turn..... It doesn't make much sense to me.

....What the hell? Increase the timing to match the worn front timing chain? WHAT??? I don't think this dude knows what he's talking about! Why not...oh, I don't know...replace the timing chain?

please find out who posted that origonally and give that person about 5,000,001

yeah, let the motor vibrations rotate the distributor to advance it, thus promoting detonation & the need for funding a new engine

Well leave it loose and the distributor will rotate on its own, most likely in the direction of the rotor spinning inside it, which will retard the timing.

Advancing the timing a little, I could see, but after replacing a worn timing chain

I'm with Project 85 and Nixon; guy sounds like a moron. Good way to ruin the timing and have the engine not run at all. I don't think the motor would ever detonate and destroy itself; it'd probably spin the distributor so far outta spec so fast that the motor wouldn't have a chance to detonate.
