i read some where on this site that someone said that 89 and up f bodys got a more lighter and more forged pistons than the previous ones
is this true? and will this benifit in the usage of n.o.s. if so a 75 shot should be safe?

Lighter piston=engine revvs up faster... forged=stronger so yeah, nitrous wouldn't affect 'em as much as it would cast pistons. That info about the 89-up pistons came from my "Rebuilding your 60 degree v6" book by Tom Currao; it's out of print (unfortunately)...

FUEL is the most important protection against nitrous damage (besides installing NOx correctly, and using NOx correctly). If your fuel system is weak and you run lean, you can burn (melt through) a piston!!

Yeah, there's a lot of that lately, especially since the "Too slow, not too furious" movie came out. I asked a lonnng time ago on the Power Adders forum (NOx, SC's, and TC's forum) how many people were running nitrous shots on their cast-piston'd v8's. Quite a few were running mild shots (50 and 75), and I think one guy was running 125.

Be careful though, in jersey, if you have a nitrous bottle with the valve open and you get pulled over, they supposedly impound the car. If the bottle's in the car but not hooked up, you're okay. You might want to check your local laws to make sure you can't get your car taken from you!

i live in ohio and well the cops dont really care nore do the e check guys. just about anyone can pass. its more of a joke than anything. theirs five countys in ohio that have e check and well im in one. they dont care about modifications just if the engine is running correct. ive seen escorts porring smoke and they pass. as far as the cops u dont have tinted windows and u arnt speeding your ok

as far as the pistons go these pistons in my 89 are better than the stock v8 as far as its ability to withstand the NOx is that what your saying? i got some 2 fast 2 furious taurus's,pt cruisers, and that damn kid in his nissan 200zx with his fart can all 114 hp. the only kid at school i respect is the kid with the 79 pontiac
