Hey man! Would you really be willing to do this? And also, I'm sorry about not sending you those kickpanels. I'm really really busy with work and everything. If you're still willing to do them I can send you them and everything. You did give me your address right? Thanks a bunch, you will be helping us out big time!

Ask for Mr. Fred Gerle.
He is in charge of this opportunity for the STREET LEGAL 60* 3rd Gen F Body PaceSetter Headers for our rides.
Mr. Gerle will need to use your car for engineering purposes & fitment.
It will take two days of your vehicle being with PaceSetter.
Please send me an email & I'll phone ahead letting him know we found our volunteer.
Mr. Gerle is awaiting to start this IMMEDIATLY & I DO MEAN IMMEDIATLY.
They are holding up, getting approved a set of headers by CARB to send this 60* V6 3rd Gen set for us, same time.
The set being sent is for the 3.4 in a 1993-95 F Body (It's the same thing as for us 3rd gen, but "Different").

PLEASE LET THIS OFFER BE LEGIT & COMMITTED. As I "have commitment for a product" IF we deliver a car!
WE NEED YOUR CAR!!!!!
Yur V6 ride will be an engineering mule for each third gen person seeking to purchase these street legal headers from PaceSetter.
You'll be legendary! And your car attains instant collector status!
PLEASE LET THIS OFFER BE LEGIT & COMMITTED.

WE ARE SO CLOSE TO THE FINISH LINE.

A few more emails & confirmations back & a set of headers is gonna be sent for certification.
For real!
KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS!

I also suggested a "replacement HiFlo "Y" Pipe & matching CC" for all 1982-1992 60* V6 owners not wanting to buy headers. NO smog legal issues to deal with from manufacture.
I also suggested the pipes clear any "subframe connectors one may add".
I also suggested the pipes be "boxed" instead of "round", where necessary, for better clearence. Just like on my old 1974 Corvette 2 1/2" pipes.

I used to work in advertising, this is just decent marketing research for max profit of products being introduced and us V6 owners reap the benefits.
Works by me!

PS... We're using someone elses money and professional talent to research & develope & make this stuff. How much better can it get for us?

well they are loosing little if anything by making them.
they already have the tooling and production capibility availibility.
The only thing they have to do if but some time into design of the new system.
what they are seeing is possible heavy interest in a product they are more then capible of making, and keeping their design team from sitting on their butt doing nothing.

Very cool, Karl!! An EO number would be cool as hell... stupid NJ inspections.

I actually have to section my y-pipe soon; it's always hung low- go figure, for a factory replacement- but now it scrapes everything. I have to cut an inch off the driver's side downpipe, an inch off the passenger side downpipe, and then weld the pipes back together. What a pain...

I've done my best to make all arrangements secure by Thursday evening.
Soon we'll find out!
How ever one looks at this project, everyone benefits.
One detail, I ASSUMED the "Y" Pipe would not need jump thru the smog law hoops.
According to Mr. Gerle at PaceSetter, "Yes, the HiFlo "Y" Pipe for factory exhaust manifolds would also need clear the hurdles."
Drat, was hoping for a product for those not wanting headers but a HiFlo "Y" pipe....
I'll keep ya posted....

THANK YOU!
I owe this to ALL HERE, EVERY 3rd Gen V6-er, including yourself AGood2.8!

You (plural) took the few to write a quick email in the favor of Street Legal Headers.

Today is getting wood cut for the bathroom remodel of the house I have for sale. Already did some electrical and kitchen tile designing. I still need to rearrange the house interior lights & install 4 ceiling fans plus other electrical work.
Yesterday, I forgot how hard it is to hand push a lawnmower in 100* temps. The lawn does look great!

FYI, 4' x 8' sheets of wood & drywall fit PERFECT in the rear hatch of my Firebird! Leave back seat "up" for the support! The 4' x 8' sheets fit better AND EASIER in the Firebird than my 1985 S-10 Blazer. And if you load right, you can also haul about 150 lbs of cement and then reload about 300+ pounds of tile! After the 300+ lbs. of tiles I installed new rear shocks! I finally wore out originals. My lawn mower also fits well in the Firebird back hatch, too!
Yeah, I use cars for all they are worth, or they are junked!

I can't wait for a quick visit to OC to say hello.
I hope so very soon!

KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS, we are closer every day, to Street Legal Headers from PaceSetter!

PS yesterday I saw the NEW CHRYSLER 300 series POWERED BY A V8 (a preproduction disguised car prowling the Van Nuys city streets)! I got one pic I was gonna show, but it wasn't a good one. THE GRILL OPENING IS NOW HUGH! Think Chrysler trucks & ya close. I saw this same car, prior to the grill being modified. LOTS OF HOLES CUT for more air flow.

Be sure to take a few moments & send CamaroStud1988 a quick email of THANKS!
Without our volunteer, this could not happen.
I only wish I was freed from my responsibilites for this "I need a car to make this product" mission, but.....
Send Mr Fred Gerle at PaceSetter a quick email telling him you'll be buying the final product, too!
The more we support our helpers in this mission, the better the chances that this opportunity WILL NOT slip away!
We are really this close, finally.
Realize,
this product is being made for a
DEAD ENGINE (2.8/3.1) (since 1992!)
CAR OUTTA PRODUCTION (RIP Friend! 2002)
THAT DON'T HAPPEN!

One question, though. Are they going to have an EGR hookup? (I would assume so).

If Pacestter is going for a C.A.R.B. E.O.# for Calif smog approval, then they will definately have the EGR provisions as well as provisions for any of the year car that have the air injection fittings for the smog pump. They will have the air fittings whether you like them or not (If you don't need them, just plug them) because they will be mass produced for a general fit application for all 3rd gen V6 cars.

Been thinking about this after I posted this morning-

I sure hope the "Donor Car" has provisions for an air(smog) pump and also is a manual transmission. If it is an auto, the headers may not fit a manual trans car. And if it doesn't have the smog pump- then the guys with smog pumps are SOL.

Here's the deal on that thought...
1982-1984 cars.....
That is a real dead market.
MEANING....
How many want to invest the $350-ish Plus in headers....
From my reading on the 1982-1984 F body owners, most are happy to make them run correct..
Hop those older rides up?
Not likely.
Mr. Gerle asked me about those "owners".
I responded that, to me, most wouldn't invest that money for going faster.
NOW ya wanna make a case for that vehicle exhaust design for HiPerf exhaust?
Right now, it's tough enough getting a volunteer to be there for the exhaust fitment.
It took me many weeks to get a person close by Phoenix for volunteering.
One wanted to come from Oregon for his post 1985 vehicle to be used for this mission.
You go to Phoenix & volunteer your vehicle and the possibilites may be good for PaceSetter producing street legal headers for model year 1982-1984.
NOT BEING MEAN......
It's just the reality factor.
EGR OH MOST DEFINETLY yes.
The vehicle being volunteered is a stick set up, 1988 model year vehicle.
One creates the product for a stick set up & the auto just follows along for the fun ride.

I'm real thankful I got a manufacturers ear to hear our pleas of make a product we will buy it.
My call really was based on readers responses & volumn of tech dealing with the model years of 1985-1992.
If ya want your 1982-1984 F Body voice heard, get to Phoenix right now!

Please don't judge me as mean or not counting the 82-84 voices.
I've been on the board for a good bit of time.
I based my thoughts and answers on what I've read.
For a manufacturer to commit time & money & resources on a product for a dead engine (last made in 1992-the 3.1) & a dead car (RIP 2002)........the final product has to make a profit for the manufacturer & the product has to be a sellable item.

WHAT I HAVE DONE, if ya noticed, is ask for a HiFlo "Y" pipe to be made for the 1982-1992 owners not wanting to buy headers, but seeking more pep.
That "Y" pipe is a very good probability of being produced & marketed along with the HiFlo CC & "I" pipe & muffler.

I did my best to be fair to a manufacturer & us potential purchasers.
Keep thinking that the connection will be made on Tuesday as CamaroStud1988 offered.
KEEP THINKING THEM GOOD VIBRATIONS!

Volley Returned;>
I'm gonna send a quick email to CamaroStud1988
Elevario, if ya can connect by phone to CamaroStud1988, see what's going on.
I believe alot is going on but at 113* temps in Phoenix, I'd be resting an extra bit, too!
I just returned from Van Nuys at 101* Plus.
Did lots of work, drove around in the heat producing interior of the ol Corvette.

I'm still laughing at the last line as my last name gets so butchered, I no longer care as long as the check clears.........

Send our good bud a note of thanks!
At 113* degrees in Phoenix, I'd await til late, also!
I'm gonna send Mr. Gerle at PaceSetter the same email to keep him in the loop.

Send Mr. Gerle a note of thanks, too.
Because of him, this "EXHAUSTING" mission can be accomplished! Maybe it will, too!

Ah comon Karl 101* that aint squat, its been 105-110* here in the no O-zone portion of the country, loving every minute of it too., No ac at work, or in my car damn expensive compresser.

Made an offer on this 89 RS down the street V6 auto super clean 45,000 miles.
If they take it I'm going to need a set of them headers.
