What to do???

Ok here's the deal, my Camaro has been on the road for a whole six months with a new-rebuilt 2.8 engine from a local supply company, the rings went bad somehow and I only had a three month warrenty. Always took care of the car, regular oil changes, only drove the car hard one night at the track, and put maybe 4500 miles on it at the most. Here are my options, 1) rebuild the 2.8 with stroker, .030 over pistons, headers, and a big cam and lifter set. 2) convert to a small block V-8, probably a 383. And if I stay with the 2.8 will the 3.1 or 3.4 throttle body fit without any problems? And does anybody have their 2.8 bored and stroked, what kind of power increase should I expect to feel from it? #1 will probably cost me around $1400 #2 will probably cost me a little over $2000. Everybody swears up and down on small blocks but I want my car to be sleeper V-6. Please help me out give me your input.
