k&N

what performance boost did any see with these filters. I have the dual stock intake so I would need two of them. I have cut the bottom off the air boxes. So if anyone has the same setup let me the difference.

Form what i hear, it's not really worth it. I still havn't gotton K&N's for my car, and I have the TPI intake too. Just cutting the bottom of the air box out help soooo much on the freeway. I also took the screen out of my MAF and havn't had any problems with it. Next step is to port match the entire intake.

You will not get any great performance gains. However; the K&N filters are well worth it, just clean and lightly oil once a year(unless you live in a dusty area) and thats the last air filters you will need to buy.

i use a k&n with a custom 3" intake, if you look at your intake setup you will see how restrictive it is, VERY SMALL OPENING so it doesn't matter what air filter you run *even though k&n is the best. If you want to keep your current setup then do as you wish but you will notice more HP gains with an open element filter and a better breathing intake....

As a stock style replacement you will see no gain. In truth a K&N filter flows less then a new paper filter but thanks to the oil bath dirt spreads fairly evenly keeping it cleaner longer. It's worth the investment if you tend to replace filters often.

K&N by itself didn't do much but make breathing sounds that I noticed. It did however make some noticable differences with my aluminum CAI, cat back with high flow cat, and lots of ignition upgrades. The entire combo made my rpms rise faster and higher. Not a whole lot faster but at least I can peel my tires now, ok, squeak my tires from a stop. Less hesitation too and some more mpg.
