Bushings

I picked up a 34mm front sway bar and a (I belive) a 21mm rear sway bar off of a '82 Recaro T/A I found in the scrap yard. grab the seats as well. what are the best bushings to use on these? Mine are shot and so were the ones off the T/A. I also need new end links.

I was hopping to be able to order them for this weekend.

I would go with Poly urethane if its possible and within the budget.

Go to the summit site and use this part# ENS-3-18131R . That should bring up a kit that costs 120, but its every bushing you will need.

I think you can buy them seperate too, so if you just want end links and sway bars you could do them as well.

even the bushings you can get at autozone these days tend to be polyurethane.. and if you want to dump the cash, autozone now stocks energy suspension components...

Bushings shouldn't be THAT much. Check out Thunder Racing, they're a sponser here too I see : http://www.thunderracing.com/index.c...ategoryid=1068

The kit for the rear sway bar is $23, the front bushings are $13 and the front endlinks are $14.

Yeah I checked AZ and others in my area, but they don't have them in stock.

Joe_L,

Do you know if this kit has the 34MM front bushings? I checked the application list and technical info, but it didn't state it. i may have to just call summit to night to find out. I would like to grab the whole kit. I am currently rebuilding my whole supension in phases. So far I have new tubular LCA's. Just doing the LCA's made a large improvment.

A long with the supension I am going to completly redo my brakes. Drilled & slotted disk, new calipers and drums, and steal briaded lines.

From what I remember, it doesn't have sway bar mount bushings; only end links. Yet another reason why I bought my bushings separately, and not as part of that kit- I already had a ton of bushings!

Order the part with a "G" as the suffix, "G" meaning graphite lubricated (as opposed to R for red for B for blue).

I asumingthat the graphite lubricated are better? last night I found the hard way that Summit change thier tech line hours from 24/7 to 8-5 m-f EST. That sucks.

I will tell you this. If that bar is the biggest one available (I can't remember if 34 or 36 or what was) they don't make a bushing for it. You've got to go with the next one down, and squeze it into the clamshell. That is how my GTA is, and let me tell you this, it makes keeping them greased a bitch.

The bigest must 36mm. They do have a listing for the 34mm, buts that is largest they have.

I have 34mm red fronts, and 24mm red rear, blue endlinks. All ES.

I got my stuff from summit.

I do have a set of 21mm rear bushings for sale. Never used, just greased. They are red.

Definately go with graphite for control arm bushings; because those aren't parts you can remove easily to re-grease. (I still have absolutely zero squeaks from my full-blown suspension rebuild.)

Only two companies make a true 36mm front sway bar bushing; GM makes a rubber one, and Guldstrand Motorsports makes poly. Find the Guldstrand through our sponsors at the top of this page, either TDS (Top Down Solutions, username = lonsol on the forums) or Spohn Performance (SteveSpohn on the forums).
