thermostat questions
I'm trying to search for a 180 degree thermostat. I know redraif switched to a 160 and she buys a lot of stuff from J.C. Whitney, so I was peaking at their site when I found this:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101
Will this work with our cars? I did a search under 92 camaro rs, but it didn't ask me for engine size on their search engine. I'm still thinking about how my fan doesn't turn on until almost 230. I can't find anything in my haynes or chiltons about a fan switch, is that the same as the fan relay? Also, I figured switching to the 180 thermostat would help, am I wrong in this?
Where can I find a 180 degree thermostat?

Go to any auto parts store, and just ask for a 180 thermo for your car. Autozone has them, no problems.

Shoot, I don't have the P/N, but Advance has the 180 for $8. Also, the fan switch is located in the back corner of the pass side cylinder head. You may be able to switch it out for a lower temp one, I am not sure, b/c I had the plasic connector on mine break, I found a new one we had for another car we got rid of years ago and put it in, and I think it may be a lower temp one, but I am not sure (was made for a 4 cyl Olds)
i used a hypertec fan switch in my iroc, got it from jegs for less than 50 dollars. car ran around 160 all the time with a 160 t stat. the harness was differant so i had to cut the ends and use a crimp connecter.
