oil gauge

oil gauge

One thing is bothering me is my oil gauge it stays at 12" o'clock whem the car is on anyone have a sugestion on how to fix that?

Not sure what the oil gauge looks like; but I'm betting the sender wire got cut somehow. Down by your oil filter, you should have a sender (or two) poking out of the oil filter mount. Check for disconnect wires.

I think you might have one LARGE sending unit down there... i think that started in '87. My '86 has two small units sticking out of the oil filter mount.

ive got an 88 and its got 2 down there, one for the fuel cutout and the other is the oil pressure sending unit. i had the same problem, replaced the sending unit, problem taken care of. if the wiring looks good, id say throw a new one on.

Today i changed the oil pressure switch,like you said is that big one i also changed the small switch.The guy at the national auto parts told me that the small one is for the cutoff switch,so when your oil pump is not working that switch cutoff the gas going to the engine.
