Y-pipe or cat?

Hey guys, any of you with 2.8s notice how loud it is in the front, on the passenger when you accelerate or just idling? Espeically if you are outside and standing by that side? My exhuast system is fine with now leaks, just seems loud and kinda tinny, this normal?

Have you replaced the cat recently? Or anything that connects using a slip joint and clamp? If so, did you remember to use a tailpipe expander?

I also have an exhaust leak. Not one, but two, one on either side of the cat, inlet and outlet. I didn't use a tailpipe expander on the front and probably should on the back. Can't tell if the note is tinny or not, but it sure is loud.

Don't know anything about the AIR system, other than the fact that you should probably either cap off the line if the cat don't have the fitting, or plug it into the cat if it does.

I have an automatic...

I'll check back tomorrow once I can get access to my Haynes manual.... I might have something then....
