coolant temp sensor help

Does any one know if a 94' and ALDL camaros temp sensor are the same?
I don't think that they are.
Does any one know the resistance values for the ALDL sensor at say 180'F and 160'F?
I was going to put a 160'F-175'F thermostat in the car inplace of the 195'F it should have. But then It won't go closed loop.
I was going to wire a resistor in parrell with the stock sensor to trick the ECU into thinking it's hoter than it realy is.
I was going to wire a lets say a 4M ohm resistor (if I was useing the sensor I have from a 94) in parrell with the sensor just to throw it off just enough to think it's hotter.
It would realy help if I knew some of the resistance values.
I only want to throw it off by about 10%-20% so I need some numbers to work with.

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
Just run a 180 thermo. You would be alot happier with it anyway. IMO 195 is too hot and 160 (other then in an 8 or a HO motor is too cold)

A 3.4 puting out near 200hp is some what HO.
I have P&P heads and intake, a crane hyd. cam with 216*/228* duration with .454''/.480'' lift and more.
And maybe a bigger tb.

Not 100% sure for the 2.8, but my TBI car goes closed loop at ~150. It's got a 160 Tstat and stays closed loop. the 155 mark for TCC lockup, however, is iffy, and during the winter on the highway I've lost TCC lockup due to overcooling. Reccomend 170-175 tstat, it'll run fine.

Thanks techsmurf I though it went closed loop around the 180 mark. I will try that.
About the time I start to go to work on the car to get it running I plain to have an ALDL reader.

Closed loop happens at like 105º, I believe....so you should be fine, even with a 160º
