Is this my cat..muffler...or both?

About 7 years ago, I put on a Flowmaster muffler. It made my '91 3.1 sound deep like a V-8.I was really pleased.Now.the output sounds more like a 4 cylinder(spelling).I bought the car when it was 3 yrs. old at the time.I'm sure it did'nt have a cat put on it then and I have'nt put one on it in 10 years.I don't have any power although the timing is correct and I did a tune-up and she idles around 950 to1000 rpms even on a 90 degree day.It is the stock cat that came with the car. Is'nt it about time for a new cat and muffler.I want a direct fit cat.Any suggesstions?

sounds like you may need one. catco has a direct fit high flow cat for about $80. for the muffler, screw it and get the dynomax catback exhaust kit. not that expensive and gives it a lil bit more power, good sound too.

The stock exhaust pipe is 2 1/4 outside diameter.
