I have a 90 Camaro RS. when I floor it, it doesnt shift til 6000 RPM's (in the red) I was wondering if a shiftkit would help, or do i need to tighten the vaccum lines, it only occurs in 1st gear

But first, use a razor blade or white-out to mark where "D" (slider) goes into "C" (adjuster). Where the two meet, before you do any adjusting, is where you should draw a line. Then adjust the cable as the article says.

If the car drives like utter crap (and you'll know it!), then drive back home, press the adjuster button in, and move the slider back to the location you marked. And then, sorry to say, but start saving up money for a new/rebuilt/junkyard transmission!
