EGR Solenoid ???

Just want to make sure...on my '86 Camaro 2.8, the EGR Sol. has 3 ports, if I block off the 2 forward ports and apply vacuum to the right angle port, it should hold vacuum right? I have 2 used sols. that don't hold vac., I'm sure their both bad...

EGR solenoid

With the ignition turned off none of the ports should hold vacuum.
